Lithonia, Georgia

Lithonia is located in the heart of the Georgia granite district. Thus, it is known as the "City of Granite." Lithonia is growing popularity as the place to live to get away from the hustle and bustle lifestyle of Atlanta as it is a small town with only about 2500 residents. It is large enough however to use two zip codes, 30038 and 30058. It uses only 770 as the area code. The huge nearby granite dome named Stone Mountain is what has put Lithonia on the map. The local public library is the first one to have been built in DeKalb County, back in 1907. It was an independent city library until 1951, when it was joined with the DeKalb County Library.
